What practitioners say

I had been wanting to do this course with Bill for years! It finally came together when the course was offered with PsychMaven. I have taken many courses in both NLP and hypnosis over the past 20 years, and I have to say, Bill's course was just awesome! One of the things that most stands out for me about this course, is its multi-leveled development of hypnosis skills building. Someone new to hypnosis can find themselves with the perfect starter-kit to get them up and running, quickly and easily into using trance. While a more advanced practitioner would be impressed by the way the material allows them to build onto and incorporate their experience, not to mention Bill's incredible language patterns! This course helped me put together all the pieces I have been collecting and practicing over the years into a usable creative framework. I cannot thank Bill and PsychMaven enough for offering this in a format I could do at my own pace!

The course was great and I loved hearing stories about Milton Erickson. Bill was able to deconstruct Erickson's work and maintain the magic that is Erickson. That is the mark of a great teacher!

Past Clinical Social Worker of the Year, California Society for Clinical Social Work (CSCSW)

Bill O'Hanlon's course with PsychMaven was taught in a clear, fun, dynamic manner - while also presenting, in depth, highly useful, hands on skills that can be immediately and directly applied. Also, such fabulous, relevant metaphors and multi-faceted stories. Bill has the personality, the skills, and years of powerfully relevant experience to be an amazing teacher. And he was! I highly recommend this course to those who want a strong and practical training for non-directive and effective hypnosis.

Frequently asked questions

When does the course start and finish?

This becomes available to new students during our open enrollment launches. This is a home-study course that can be done at your own pace. After you purchase the course, you will have Lifetime Access to all course material for you to complete when convenient in your schedule in the enrollment time.

How much do I need to already know about hypnosis to do this program?

Even though this is an advanced-level course, it is intended help inform the curious practitioner through a lot of practical lectures, the sharing of in-depth research, and the presenting of thorough examples through recorded live demonstrations of Ericksonian and Solution-Oriented Hypnosis. So even if you are beginning this program with limit experience in hypnosis, it is still a great place to start. And if you are a more experienced practitioner/student of hypnosis, this an exhaustive program on the particulars of Ericksonian and Solution-Oriented approaches that is designed at an advanced level and is meant to lead to a full certification.

I have bought Bill's 42 CE hour course that was just called "Ericksonian Hypnosis." Is this a different course?

Great question! That previous version of the course has now been repackaged as this course called 'Ericksonian & Solution-Oriented Hypnosis.' The core of these 2 courses are the same, but this updated version includes an additional 8 hours of continuing education (CE) so that this single course will now qualify for certification under the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists (NBCCH). However, if you enrolled in the previous version of the course (the one simply titled 'Ericksonian Hypnosis'), you do not need to enroll in this latest version of the course, as PsychMaven is making the additional 8 hours of CE material and credit available for free to students who have bought this previous course with PsychMaven. If you bought this previous version of the course, see the beginning of the course lectures in that program for information.

I have bought Bill's 14.5 CE hour course that was called "The Solution-Oriented Approach." Is this a different course?

Another great question! This is a completely different course. The course that Bill has with PsychMaven called 'The Solution-Oriented Approach: A Radically Simple and Powerful Method of Creating Rapid Change.' is a briefer course, and one that is all about non-hypnotic approaches to change work. A totally different course.

How long do I have access to the course?

How does lifetime access sound? After enrolling, you have unlimited access to this home-study course for as long as you like - across any and all devices you own.
